July Favourites!

So, as many people do, I've decided to post about my favourite products of July!

I've been super busy throughout this month, although I've still found time to somehow shop and spend more money than I should on products I really don't need but really want. Know what I mean? And it's only fair that I share my favourites with you, right?! Right.
Some of the following products I've mentioned in my mini haul which I posted previously, but some I haven't.

So I'll start with skincare. Now, I'm usually really lazy with skincare because I just don't often have the time to sit down and massage my face with various creams for half an hour, but for the past few weeks since I've been on a break from university, I've been trying to up my game when it comes to taking care of my skin. After all, we don't want wrinkles later on now do we?

My lovely friend, Mia, sent me a bottle of Bath and Body Works body lotion in the scent Vanilla Berry. This. Smells. Amazing. I've been using it as a moisturiser after I shave my legs and it just makes my skin so smooth and I smell heavenly - I use it on my arms aswell! It's a shame we don't have this shop in the UK, otherwise I would spend probably 99% of my free time in there!
Moving on to my face, I've been using Simple's Cleansing Foam. Like I mentioned before, I'm not one to take good care of my skin but I've really liked this product so far! It makes my skin feel really clean after I've used it, and it's so soft and nice to apply. You simply wet your face, squirt two pumps of the foam into your hands and work it into your skin in outward circular motions, then rinse off with water and pat dry. Voila! I've been using this every few days and it's really made me feel like my skin is softer and healthier which is so great in this heat we've been having - the last thing I want to do is pile on make up to cover up dodgy skin!

I also recently purchased Sleek's Blush By 3 Palette in Lace, and I have particularly fallen in love with the blush Crochet. Now, we all know I love a bit of coral, and this is such a gorgeous bright coral that adds the nicest colour to your face. The great thing about these Sleek palettes is that they are super pigmented and so you need the smallest amount for them to have a stunning effect. I use my Real Techniques Blush Brush to apply this blush and it's just lovely.

For my eyes, I've been loving three products. The first is L'oréal Super Liner Perfect Slim. I normally use a gel eye liner with a brush for my cat flicks and still do when I have a lot of time, but this liner is so perfect for a quick fix. It has a felt tip with just the right amount of liquidity (does that make sense) for it to have good coverage and the pencil like shape and pointed tip make it so easy to apply. The only downside is that it's not as water resistant as the gel liner that I use and so it sometimes smudges if my skin gets a little oily or moist.
The second is more of a rediscovery. It's a MAC eyeshadow in the colour Jest. I completely forgot I had this and when I found it I was so happy! You can probably tell from the photo that it's had a lot of love because I've hit the pan! It's a gorgeous shimmery rose gold that comes out as quite a bright highlight. It isn't glittery which is great, and it's really nice to blend with other bolder colours for a gorgeous shimmery, bright eyed look.

The third is a mascara - Covergirl LastBlastVolume in Black. Another friend picked this up for me in America - apologies to the UK girls reading this - but apparently the Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara is practically identical. I've been using this every day and it's really nice - it makes my lashes look super long and evenly spread but not too clumpy and exaggerated. It's really nice for a subtle, natural look for luscious lashes.

As it's been so hot here in the UK, I haven't really wanted to wear much make up, and when I don't wear much make up I can't wear a bright, bold lipstick. I just can't get away with it, sorry. And for that, I've gone for something I would not normally have gone for - but I'm so happy I did. It's the Bourjois Color Boost lipstick/lip crayon in the colour Orange Punch. The reason I picked this up is because people such as Zoella and Tanya Burr have been raving about it, so I thought I'd give it a try! It's got a really nice moisture to it which is just what you need in this weather, and has just the right amount of colour - not too pigmented, but not too sheer - so as to not be too garish, and claims to stay put for up to 10 hours (which I'm yet to test!). The colour choice was a little odd for me but I'm a sucker for coral at the moment and was wearing my favourite jumper (as mentioned below) in coral when I bought it and they go really well together! I was very very pleasantly surprised. It smells of something that I can't quite put my finger on so if any of you have it too, please comment and tell me what you think it smells of!

For my nails, I have been LOVING pastel colours. Many people who know me will know that I am a BIG pastel fan - always have been, always will be. The colour I've been wearing the most on my nails is Essie's Mint Candy Apple. Now, I've had this polish for a long time, but don't wear it much because so many people rave about it on Instagram and I felt it was too cliché to wear it (do you know what I mean?). But I've actually been wearing it a lot recently. It's a really nice mint green that is so perfect for sunny days and is just really refreshing as I normally wear white dark pinks and purples so it's nice to have a change! And, although people do go on about it and how I hate that it's so cliché to wear it, it is a definite must have in everyone's polish collection. It's just lovely.
My favourite piece of jewellery this month has been a late addition but I'm so in love. It's a pair of beautiful earrings that my boyfriend bought for me when he was on holiday with his family in the Dominican Republic. They're made from silver and a stone that can only be found in the Dominican - Larimar. He knows how much I love the colour blue and they are just perfect and I've worn them every day since he gave them to me.

Then we have my favourite item of clothing of the month. It's the generic Topshop knitted jumper in a gorgeous bright neon yellowy-green. When my mum and sister saw I had bought this they looked on in horror because it is just SO bright and you definitely wouldn't lose me in a crowd, but I fell in love with it straight away. I've never been a fan of yellow, but for some reason this colour really suits me! And I have been wearing it as much as possible, both because I love it and to spite my mum and sister.
And last, but not least, is my guilty pleasure of the month: Bubble Tea. For anyone who does not know what this is, it's a Japanese drink which you can have hot or cold, milky or fruity, and you suck it up through a really wide straw. What's different about it is that you also have little balls at the bottom which you can have in different flavours; there's the popping balls which burst and have fruity liquid to add that extra flavour, the traditional tapioca balls which are slightly chewy but like nothing I've ever had before, or you can opt for flavoured jelly pieces. If there is a place near you that does these - HAVE ONE. Because I've had about four in the past week and will continue to have them, despite the £3 price tag, because they're so different and refreshing and just great.

So there it is! My July favourites! I hope you enjoyed reading this and that it gave you some insight into some products you may have been considering.

I am going to Boston on the 8th of August and then to France until the 25th so I doubt I'll be able to blog until I get back from my travels! I will most definitely be doing a Boston haul, but let me know if there is anything else you'd like me to post about in the comments below!

What were your July favourites?

Until next time!

    1. I really like the Essie range, but at £8 per polish they're not cheap! My advice would be to wait until Boots does a 3 for 2 offer! Makes them a little more cost effective! x
